Ss?????
ok i have a question and i need it to be answerd i have a 1991 caprice classic 305 5.0 what is the difference between this and a 1991 that is just a caprice but not a classic? and is the such thing as a caprice ss or is that just th impala? either there is a ss caprice or there is just on dumb ass kid at my school that put some stickers on there

the only ss caprice was made overseas. I think it sold somewhere in the middle east. It was the same thing as the impala ss, just named the caprice ss. The impala ss was made from 94 to 96 I believe (at least in that body style, they were made in the 60's as well). The impala ss is basically the same car as the caprice, but with some different options, badges, wheels, etc. It also had the lt1 engine (based on corvette engine), but many caprices had this in it as well. So many people have done things to caprices that it is hard to tell what is what. There are a lot of "fake" impala ss's running around. You can buy all kinds of emblems to put on a caprice.

So pretty much odds are its not a Caprice SS unless it was transported from the middle east.

He probably just bought the decals from a GM parts source. It's a common mod.
