popping noise
hi everyone i'm new here but i have a problem that i hope one of you can help me with. i have a 2001 hyundai elantra am i am also getting the same popping noise most of you describe when i brake. the noise started when i took my car to the factory to have the rear brakes change. i've since took the car back twice for this noise but its still their. i factory tech say he don't know why i am getting this noise because everything looks fine and he sanded the drums for warping. i want to know also if this is dangerous for me to be driving the car with this noise. the car brakes fine but i have a little viberation in the pedal when i brake also.
any solution is welcome. thanks |

Re: popping noise
If your front disks or rear drums/disks are warped and your car has abs then the popping noise would be be the abs unit suffering with the uneven pressure and as you mechanic said he sanded the drums for warping so i would say he's fucked it big time as under no circumstances do you sand hone or skim disks or drums as its your life you are playing with always best to replace with new ones as you can not put a price on your life. so go back to your mechanic and put the thumb screws on him.
