D'Oh!

It was about 8.50pm, and I was on my way home from my friends house.. it was a nice night out, so I figured some nice cars would be out. Plus I had my new shoes on my car (245/50 Kuhmo's with late style SuperCoupe Wheels), so it looked mean as hell.

I was goin down 360, and the light ahead was red, as I started to slow down, the light went green, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a Rio Red 94-95 Mustang GT pulling out of 711 at the intersection. I slowed down after I passed though, and watched where the Mustang went, and it was goin my way. I jumped in the slow lane, and slowed down, and waited for the GT to catch up.

Unfortunately when I slowed up, a Mazda 626 and an Astro Van passed me, and they decided to each get in one lane, and slow up all traffic. By the time the GT caught up, we were still a bit behind the two cars. I blipped the throttle, and the 4.6 made a little roar at the 5.0 next to me. The 5.0 proceded to give a rev....

I'm game.
He's game.

We both nailed it from about a 45 roll and we were dead even up to 70, in which time we cought up to the two morons. The red GT proceded to tail gate the Astro. Unfortunately, at around this time, we had cought up to another redlight, with more traffic.

(note: we were the last two cars in the line of traffic..)

I stayed behind the GT the whole way since that lane was moving faster when all of a sudden the GT gets in the u-turn/turn lane. I sail by, but watch my mirror, when I see the GT head lights lift up and take off? I guess he wanted to make a REAL run. DOH! I figure since his car far superior to mine I'll make him catch up to me, so I give it 3/4 and start to walk away. I look back, and I dont see anyone but a few cars behind me. So I pull into the gas station at the intersection where I'm SUPPOSED to turn, and wait for him. After 2-3 minutes, he never showed up, so I decided to head on home.

Thats my lame race story for the week.

Re: D'Oh!

When I see your stories I keep hoping its actually a camaro race, and every friggin time you raced somebody in the T-bird!

Its a lil disappointing, I gotta say...but good race though, short as it was...It would have been nice to do the whole thing, stomped or not

Re: D'Oh!

The SS is in the shop getting some 'internal work' done to the transmission. An estimated $1400...

(just spent $1200 on a new tranny for the T-Bird)
