god damn cell phones

You know what really pisses me off, fucking cell phones, why? well the reasons are end less but heres a few.

for one why in the fuck do we need to be in constant contact with some one doesn't anyone enjoy time alone anymore?

secondly, when you're driving down the road DON'T talk on your god damn phone and you can't tell me it doesn't distract you cause try this, sit down with a book, now turn your stereo up really loud now have a friend wave thier hand in front of you're face. how good can you concentrate on the book very little if at all. point proved.

thirdly, if you have some one in the car with you why the hell are you talking to someone else? I mean if they are in your car they must be your friend right? talk to them! plus on top of that it's rude as hell. why the fuck do I want to sit and listen to a one sided conversation?

lastly if you must carry around a cell phone. when you're in a movie theater or some other enviroment of that type (a play, class, etc.) turn the mother f***er off no one in the place came there to listen to your cell phone play some shitty version of some song. if you think the song is cool play it for your friends and impress them but turn the bastards down in places like that, I thought that's what vibrate mode is for.

ahh. now I feel better. anyone else as pissed off by these things as I am or am I alone?

Yeah I agree with most of the points. I remember back in the days when cellphones were only supposed to be used for emergencies only. Obviously, you can notice the way cell phones are being used now . Thats partly because cell phones are so affordable these days.

Well, I'm gonna admit right now, I have a cell phone. But, it's my only phone. I don't talk while driving in town, I RARELY talk if I'm on the freeway, (just to clarify I live in the boonies and there's no such thing as rush hour, and I only talk if I have to) and I'm not one of those people who talks really quiet but for some reason yells into their phone. I do agree that most cell phone people need to cut back especially in public and ESPECIALLY while driving. So, I agree with you about 80%.

I refuse to have a cell phone or pager. I will not be at the beck and call or work my schedule around for anyones calling whims.

I like my cell phone. I am not dependant upon it, and if I leave it at home, oh well.

it's nice to know that someone can be there with you in a heartbeat, though.

but most people are ignorant of ettiquette.

It's nice to know you're not bitter Just playing.

I have a cell phone and it has come in handy quite a bit for emergencies. Having been in 5 accidents in the last 8 years (only one was my fault, and no I was NOT on the phone) it is good to be able to call 911 and not wonder if someone else did it for you. It came in very handy for updates when my dad was in a hospice dying. I had things I needed to do and when "the call" came I was able to get back to my family. I also am trying to get a business going so when those calls for potential work come in, I can get the info I need.

I do agree with the annoyance of being at dinner or a movie and hearing ring after ring after ring. I turn my ringer off or put it on vibrate...depending if I expect a call or not. As for being in my car...most of my friends are pretty short and to the point when they call (i.e. "Hey I will be over at 7, later."). For the ones that like to talk about the weather, i let them leave voicemail or return their call when I am home or somewhere where I can safely use my phone.

I guess it depends on what's going on in your life determines how badly you need a phone. Some enjoy not being at the beckoning call of anyone when away from home. Some us just have too much going on to not be in touch.

My little brother did a term paper on this subject I agree with most of the points. I unfortunately have to have a pager for work and since I'm in Japan I carry a cellphone also. It is nice to have just in case of emergencies.

This is on the same line as cellphones in theaters, why in the hell do people bring babies to freakin' movie theaters, that and kids and people kicking your chair. I don't buy off on the "We didn't have a sitter and we want to see this movie." Bullsh!t, you made the decision to have a baby and if not tough luck, live with it. Wait till it comes out on DVD!!!

*meek* I'm done...
