1997 C1500 bright lights
Is there a simple dimmer switch or relay that controls the bright lights
the other day I tried to use them and got a funny clicking noise under the dash and they do not work

Yes you should have a relay. The turn signal lever is a combination switch and I doubt it went bad. I would look under your hood in your relay box. I can't remember where I saw it last. -Chris
