Cheap Mods
Just thought I'd pass this on. Haven't seen any threads recently covering this. Replaced my muffler with a Flowmaster DeltaFlow 50 a couple of weeks ago. Nice tone, slight increase in gas mileage and nominal performance boost. Removed the intake silencer inside the duct between the airbox and the throttlebody. This made it all come together. Throttle response is excellent. Transformed my 2.3L from transportation to fun. Best yet, the last mod was a freebie. Try it you'll like it. Can't vouch for any effect on gas mileage yet, I'll wait 'til my driving style returns to normal.

now you ought to put in an undersized drive pulley and a cold air intake. You'll see a nice increase in throttle response

I've seen this listed for the 3.0 L but not for my 2.4L 4-cylinder. Do you know of a source for a pulley to fit my 4-banger? Also , does this require a different serpentine belt?

Re: Cheap Mods
Not that I know of, though I am not exactly sure. Look around for the MAF mod, this may be what you're looking for. I know a lot of people do this to their 3.0L. I think you would get execellent results from a better rear end gear. The gearing on the 3.0L Rangers kind of sucks.
