2000 Grand Caravan code P0443

Can anyone help me, without the costly dealerships getting involved??The manual identifies this as "Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfunction."

Re: 2000 Grand Caravan code P0443

There are several causes for this problem. First, make sure the gas cap is tight. Next there is a solenoid that is clearly visible on the drivers side of the engine compartment. It is possible that this solenoid is bad. It costs $30 at a dealer and can be replaced in less than an hour. If that doesn't correct the problem check the hoses to the canister that is located under the vehicle. It is rectangular and is located under the driver's side of the vehicle.

It is also possible that the code will clear itself after a few days. If not have it reset to see if it comes back on. If it does try the above.

that could be an electrical or compoment problem

check the wires going from the computer to the purge valve, make sure all the connectors are clean and tight.

if they are, the purge valve itself may be bad
