Buick Century

Hi Guys:

Love the forum. Hope you can help me with this.

I have an 89 century with a 3.3 litre engine and a 4T60 transmission.
It shifts 1st-2nd ok and is strong and solid. It appears to shift
2nd-3rd but when the shift is complete the engine just revs up no drive.
The shifts are hard and fast not slow or sloppy. I checked the fluid
level and it is right on and the oil does not smell burned. A complete
fluid and filter change approx 7 mos ago is the only thing done to it.

The car has 200k + on it but the trans was changed when i got it.

Re: Buick Century

It is possible that you have a sticking solenoid in the transmission that is interrupting the shifting. Check the fluid level to see that it is correct. You may also want to pull some out to add a can of Lucas transmission additive or Sea Foam to the transmission. This may correct the problem. If not you may have to take it to a shop for repairs.

I've been seeing alot of reference to seafoam. Does this stuff have a website where I can learn more about it?
