explain this stuff to me
I Got A 93 Eagle Talon 1.8 . I Would Like To Know What A Lightweight Cam Gear Is. Where It Goes What It Does. I Know Some Of You Might Think I'm An Idiot For Asking These ?s. But I Just Dont Know And Want To Know. Also What All Happens When You Port And Polish The Head On A 1.8? If Any1 Can Help Me Out On These ?s. It Would Really Be Nice

Re: explain this stuff to me
1) Dont capitalize every word
2) Lightweight Cam Gear? Cam gears are already really light. They make aftermarket cam gears so you can advance or retard the timing. These are called adjustable cam gears. Light weight, doesn't make sense. It goes in place of your exisiting cam gear. It's on the head, and the timing belt goes over it. Is the 1.8 a SOHC or DOHC? If its DOHC, you'll need 2. 3) Porting and Polishing a head will get better air flow into the engine. All the openings are bored to a specific size. Then smoothed out. You need a tuning when this gets done. You will also blow through a lot more fuel.
