When the key is turned the engine cranks but doses not fire. I checked the fuel pump switch in the trunk and the fuel pump fuse. Both look fine. I called my local dealer's service department and they said to try holding the accelerator pedal to the floor and crank the engine. Either a sensor or valve (I'm not sure want he was referring to) may be stuck. Still no ignition.
What else can I try? Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

My 2000 started doing that last year but only after it had been sitting overnight but it would eventually start. It got progressively worse so I took it in before it wouldn't start altogether. It was the Throttle Positioning Sensor, but they had to let it sit overnight and then try to start it before they found it.

Re: 2002 Grand Marquis won't start
you know my 1987 Grand Marquis is doing the same thing. It ran fine until it sat for a few days now it will crank but won't fire. I wonder could it be the same as your issue since they are so many years apart
