Hard shifting

Ok so a couple days ago I was shifting in to reverse and it was shifting real hard like it did not want to go in to gear. so I would have to shift in to 1st and 2nd then it would go in to reverse but it was still hard. Could that be the syncros on the tranny. Oh my tranny is a M6.
Thanks

Mine has done that a couple times. I barely let the clutch out and it will pop it or I had to go into 1st and back to R. I never thought about it too much but I haven't had any problems since then.

from time to time i've had to do that with every manual tranny car i have driven... don't really think its a problem... but if it was still hard to go into maybe you could try changing the tranny fluid... i don't really know what the symptoms of bad syncros are...

Re: Hard shifting

It has been doing it in other gears also. I had the tranny fluid changed and that helped but I heard a funny noise that sounded like the slave cylinder. It felt the same when that lil bastered 'slave cylinder' went out like 6 months ago. I am thinking it might not be ingaging all the way. Is that possible even if the clutch feels fine?

i would think that if the slave cylinder was mounted incorrectly on the transmission end (where it contacts the clutch fork) then the pedal would feel fine but it wouldn't completely disengage the clutch... or maybe something has happened to the clutch fork itself...
