Is there a cheep way to test to see if the car is running lean up top by turning up the fuel pressure or something???? I'm getting weird KR readings??

Re: A/f
If the engine is running lean then you should get a CEL indicating so. The KR you are getting could be due to bad plugs, carboned up combustion chambers or low octane fuel. You may want to look at the plugs to make sure they are burning properly or even try a different heat range.
There is also a possibility that the knock sensor is bad and sending false information to the computer. |

Re: A/f
I agree with GTPdad, your KR is more a symptom than the disease. If it's a normally aspirated 3800 or 3100, I would look into possible intake leaks if everything GTPdad mentioned checks out. If it's a S/C 3800, fuel octane is probably the culprit.

Yea its a 02 GTP and i have i degree colder plugs a week old, new wires, motor mounts, SLP intake, R/T downpipe 3", and a borla cat back. The KR is strange because it doesn't grow past 2 or 3 kr then after it shifts to 2nd it just jumps and keeps going. Then a few days ago i was on the high way i hit the gas WOT and the KR went crazy, it hit 7*.... all my mods should help not make it worse... but i did notice that all my mid range like 4,000 rpm accl. kr is gone so i'm confused. o yea i use 93 octane so that is ruled out too.

Re: A/f
u should get some race gas and run it then. if the kr goes away then I would think its real and if not then it sounds like false knock
