Help Ignition/Electrical problem
Howdy I have a 96 with a 2.2 that just died going down the highway. It did throw a camshaft position sensor code before it Passed. Ever since then It will crank but not even attemp to fire although it did cough once. I sprayed starting fluid in it and still didn't attemp to fire so I guess I rulled out a gas issue. I check the spark and found a red weak spark. So for giggles I had a extra camshaft sensor laying around and swapped them out and still cranks but does not even attemp to fire. Does anyone no where or what I should attemp to do next. Shouldn't the spark be blue?

Coil packs or ignition module behind the Coils packs.

Hi I'm assuming it's not one of the coil packs due to all 4 plugs have the same type of spark. However the ignition module could be it but I thought they either would work or not. Any other ideas before I start replacing expensive components?

Crankshaft Position Sensor
You need a crankshaft position sensor. When it becomes defective, as they do on these cavaliers, they don't send a signal to the coil pack, therefore the weak spark, so you automatically suspect the coils. You also will not receive a code when these are defective. You can buy one from Advanceautoparts for about $62.00, that should solve your starting problems.
