oil everywhere>

allright i just got done being under the hood of my car and ive noticed nice layers of oil building up all over the place, my oil isn't low i checked it, just seems like oils coming out of nowhere, it's not reaching the ground where i park it so either its only leaking from somewhere while im driving or its just not getting all the way to the ground, so here's some pics of where the oil is, anyone seen this before and know maybe where it's coming from? also on a side note i dont know how this ended up like this on my mbc but does this look ok? minus the stupid ass loop that im gonna fix tomarow, can i just run that tube from the manifold to the mbc like that?

heres the lovely oil shots

and heres the scary one, the evoIII 16G WITH ONLY 1K MILES ON IT, CAKED IN OIL

and heres the goofy ass mbc hook up, please tell me its right

thnx for your time everyone

I think you have to change the oil cap seal ( most 2g eclipse got oil cap seal leak) do not buy the whole cap, just the seal, and I think you have to change the valve cover gasket too . good luck.

Re: oil everywhere>

Look for a hairline crack in the valvecover too.

Take your upper timing cover off and look and see if any oil is getting on your timing belt.

Re: oil everywhere>

My oil did the same thing in the middle of valve cover, it was my cap!! I made another seal out of a piece of rubber to dubble it up and never had the problem again. The oil down the side of the valve cover looks like your gasket is bad.

Oh yea btw , if you buy the new seal, just install the new seal over the old seal, it will seal better.

Re: oil everywhere>

it could also be valve cover gasket... looks like that from the pic by the timming belt... the gasket is kinda peeling away...

Re: oil everywhere>

check your spark plug seals, buy a new $12 oil cap from mits parts department, wipe all that shit off your valve cover and see if it returns.

Re: oil everywhere>

yeah i'll throw me in...i agree with everyone else...it's either your oil cap seal, or valve cover gasket. or both. go to autozone, get a felpro valve cover gasket for like $35 (includes everything you need), get a new oil cap seal from mitsu, then take off the upper T-belt cover. hope there's not a lot of oil on it.
