SS/SC update: Face lift.

Well, the SS is back in business again with a brand new motor (GM refused to replace the car) and an extended warrenty. After being delayed all last week I finally recieved my baby last friday, along with another goodie that the Fedex chick brought me.

This is the new view I get when I drive her now...

The New hood is from a company called IPP. It was pricey but it's very high qaulity. It's weighs around 15-17 pounds, which is about half the wieght of the stock hood. Not much, but it's better than nothing. The scoop is open as well and there are no vibrations or shimmies at freeway speeds

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

kinda looks sharp!
fitmet works thats a good thing. Shakey hoods are scary and look ass.

Edit:
can you take that mesh out I think it would look way cleaner.

Thanks Ace.
And yes, although I've never thought about it, I could easily take the mesh out. I may try that later today to see how it looks. Good idea mang.

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

The only thing with taking the mesh out, is that it can suck bigger things into the engine bay....like birds.

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

Looks good. I see that you've got the front end fixed too. I actually like the mesh though.

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

The hole isnt THAT big...maybe a humming bird or two could fit tho

I'll take it out and see how it looks, but I'm sure I'll just keep it in as I like how it is just fine.

The hood was 499 + 120 for shipping!

As far as painting it goes, I WAS gonna have the scoop taped off and have the rest of the hood shot in a couple of coats of Rally yellow and a couple clears, leaving the black CF scoop unpainted. But I like it so much the way it is I'm gonna save the 250+ and spend that on wheels (no one has wheels for this thing right now tho) or the psi-fi pully kit. Niether will be coming soon tho.

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

Yeah, the scoop on the STiu looks like it came off the damn air inlet of a F-16...looks ok, but IMHO, I dont like carbon fiber on yellow...but then again teh only two yellow cars I like are on my wall.

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

I say, take the mesh out, and paint it black.

That way you still get some form of protection against small debris, but it's kinda hidden.

Looks good.

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

Why do you say that you can't find any wheels for your car? What are the specs? Look at tirerack.com

Re: SS/SC update: Face lift.

looks badass, ive been thinking about a hood for my next purchase as well. Theres a really nice hood scoop for cavaliers, small but fits the hood and car perfectly. I wasnt sure if i wanted to paint it or get CF, but after seeing yours i think im gonna go CF.

Also what do you mean no wheels? Did Gm decide to be asshats and put a lught nut and gap different than anything else before?

Looks Tits!

Should have saved for the pully. Doesn't look too bad I guess though.
