AC Cobra

Hello to all. You guys have some very good pieces of art here. I have been building models since I was a kid. I tend to buy kits now just to get the blueprints. Does anybody have blueprints from a kit for a COBRA. I know Tamiya has a kit, but I have never seen it over here (Canada). I only ask because I have seen a few others take this approch to obtain BP's. If this bothers anybody, my apology's. Thanks in advance.

Tamiya made an AC Cobra? I think you might have seen that they have the Mustang Cobra R from a few years back.

Someone may have another Cobra kit, though...

Fujimi is SUPPOSED to be releasing a 427 COBRA SCHLJ
HLJ 2

I have'nt been able to find out too much about these kits,if they are new tools or rerelease of the Sunny Cobra which was a strange collection of parts for the small block and big block Cobras.
The ad says it's "skill level 3" does that mean it may have an engine ?

Not necessarily; HLJ calls curbside kits "Level 3," too.

It is that Sunny Cobra, with AMT mechanicals! YUK!!!
Monogram did an excellent 427 AC Cobra in the late 80's along with a 289 version. Here is one of my "waiting" models....

This what I posted at Y!Group GPMA :

I think the highlight of the 2002 Shizuoka show is nothing but
Fujimi's Cobra.

Do you know how the original Cobra look like? (Well, I don't.)
There are so many replicas, and replicas of replicas, that it's hard
to find the right reference, and each person has his own impression
of Cobra. That's the difficulty Fujimi had to face. Apparently,
they started working on the project based on a wrong Cobra, and the
conflicting reference photos made them look for a real car. Luckily,
Fujimi staff found an original Cobra with the original engine. The
owner was very cooperative, and Fujimi staff learned a lot. They
brought the wood master, and checked it side by side with the real
car, corrected errors, and finalized the master.

The kit will feature a complete engine. The level of detail is
similar to their 240Z kit, so the Cobra kit can't claim to be a part
of the Enthusiast series. Still, it's a great news that Fujimi can
(financially) make a model with engine details. They say they will
let the aftermarket firms release the detail kit, if a modeler wants
to go farther.

Well, this is the story behind the development of the Cobra kit, and
I'm glad to know the amount of work they put into this item.

Here are some pictures. Do they look like the Cobra you know of?

YES!, there'll be a bland new Cobra kit, 2300 yen, due July.

The fenders in the photos are incorrect for the 427 Cobras, the front flares should appear more "molded in" and the rear of the real Cobra didn't have the flat fender lip of the 289 cars and the rear fenders have not been widened nearly enough

The 289 car is on the right

That looks like Dave Lobenberg's Cobra racer, he lives down the road from me. Maybe I can get some good ref-pics for the board.
That kit body sure looks like the "Sunny" Cobra, with all of it's faults. If Fujimi is touting this as a "new tool" they are truly being deceitful...
