Purchased a 2002 GMC Envoy recently from a GM dealership. After setting up all programmable functions for each driver as per manual and pressing the #1 or #2 buttons to hold those settings, when using the matching keyfobs all but the mirrors go to their proper settings. Both outside mirrors always end up in a different location. Have reset and reprogrammed a number of times and it's a pain to have to reposition the mirrors each time you enter the car. Sounds like the module that is suppose to remember the mirror positions is having a problem. Have had it into the dealer 3 times and they said it's working for them.
Is there something a Saturday mechanic can do for this or is this a dealer only thing? Seems like I'm with this dealer. Maybe have to visit a GMC dealership.

Re: programmable mirrors have mind of their own
You dealer has to reflash your pcm with an update to resolve the problem.
