Emergency Brake

When I started my 95 GTP in the morning, the emergency brake light was on when the emergency brake was up. I pressed it up and down a few times to see if it was stuck but the light was still on. I drove around for a little and then it finally went off. Do you know what the cause could be? Thanks!

Was it the emergency brake light, or just the brake light? If it was the brake light, check your fluid. if the fluid is low it will give you a brake light and sometimes driving around makes it fluctuate therefore making the light go off. I had the same problem on my '95 bonneville that's why I suggest this.

Good luck.

Re: Emergency Brake

as a side note, if you fluid is low, check yer brakes. When the brakes get worn it causes the calipers to expand, therefore using more fluid, which could be the reason for the light.

Exclamation Re: Emergency Brake

i was fixing my exaust on my 95 grand prix and i put it on ramps. i engaged the emergency brake. when i was finish i released the brake but it seemed like it wasnt full disengaged. i could feel a difference driving between brake on and off but it still seemed like it wasnt fully off. there was quite a bit of resistance.
