Cabin Air Filter Cover

Gurus of all things Windstar,

I need your help. Yesterday I changed the cabin air filter from my 2000 Windstar and placed the plastic clip-on cover on top of the cowl. Needles to say, I forgot it and it departed my presence while driving on the freeway. Does anyone have access to a junkyard that may have one or a Ford part # for a new one. I am stationed overseas and have the only Windstar that I know of. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Re: Cabin Air Filter Cover

could you use duct-tape? to seal it up. (I don't think it is visable with the hood closed.

Mike, it should be an easy part to get. It looks like even the new freestars use the same cover. I'd poke around online for one.

Thanks, I have been searching online already. Is it called something different? I could and am currently using duct tape, but I am kinda a perfectionist when it comes to my vehicles. I will keep searching.

I would just go to a Ford dealer and get the part. At least the Ford dealer near me has been pretty competitve in pricing parts. I needed a brake fluid cover for a '99 Taurus ($5 online and $6 at the dealer) so it wasn't worth the hassle of getting it online and paying s/h.
