Question ABout dash lights on a 96 Z34

Hey guys i just bought a 1996 Z34 and i found one problem. My das does not light up all the way at night. The only thing that lights up on the dash is the Millage and the arrow that tells you your rpm and how fats you are going. Nothing else lights up the numbers do not light up so i cannot see how fast i am going. It seems like it could be an aftermarket cover because the dash is white. Please if someone can help me i would apriciate it.
