1995 D16z6 Block W/1988 D15b2 Head
HELLO, i AM NEW HERE AND NEW TO HONDAS IN GENERAL. I AM TRYING TO GET MY 1988 CIVIC DX DPFI RUNNING, BUT AM HAVING PROBLEMS TIMING IT. THE ORIGIONAL BLOCK WAS RUINED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. SO I BOUGHT A 1995 D16Z6 BLOCK OFF OF EBAY. THE GUY SAID IT WOULD BOLT RIGHT UP. WHICH IT DID. BUT NOW THE TIMING SEEMS TO BE OFF. I PUT A NEW TIMING BELT FOR THE D15B2 ON THIS BLOCK, COULD THAT BE MY PROBLEM. IT WILL START AND MAKE A LOT OF NOISE. THEN DIE IMMEDIATELY. I TOOK THE HEAD BACK OFF TO SEE IF I HAD DAMAGED THE VALVES, BUT THEY SEEM FINE. ANY INFO OR COMMENTS WELCOME. THANKS SO MUCH. TK

Re: 1995 D16z6 Block W/1988 D15b2 Head
well heres what i can tell you from personal experience, even though its not the same thing you did, its kinda close.
we did a vtec head swap on my friends std, with a z6 head. and after getting it running we found it impossible to get it in time. after some research we found that you need to run a adjustable cam gear on this set up. Im not sure if its the same with a z6 block and a 1.5 head though. just thought id share to help you.
