My first loss. w-0 L-1

I jst put a t25 on my civic dx hatch last wed, it made 227whp@14psi
i ran it last friday at the track, my best was 13.58@101 (1.89 60'ft.)
so saturday i get the racing jeebers, and go out to look for a race, i didnt come across anyone worth racing, so i went home.

Today when i was headed to work. i was on the freeway and guess what starts driving beside me.. a frikkin Ford Excursion, he came up beside me and starting going the same speed, i look over at him and he gives it a little throttle. and i just started laughing, i thought mabie he just wanted to see what my civic could do, so i down shift for him, then i relize he's right beside me still, so i keep racing and this guys dead even next to me, untill i shift to 4th and from about 90-110 he started pulling about 2 cars then i shut it down, i give him a thumbs up and continue on my way.

About a mile down the highway we cetch a red light. THis is where my car shines, (0-100 pretty much) the light turns green and i launch on him and pulled a good 2cars just off the line he pretty much stays 2 cars behingd me till i hit 3rd then he started gaining, and was a half car behind till around 6500in 3rd i started pulling on him again, i shift to 4th and hes stays a steady 1 car behind me... then we shut it off.

So there it is, my 1st street race with new set up, and i have to loose to a 8000lb Ford Excursion!!! lol

Re: My first loss. w-0 L-1

it was probably a turbo diesel one with some mods...theres plenty of diesel trucks around here that run 13's or lower...one or two even in the 11's

I bet you surprised him as much as he surprised you. If I had a fast truck I wouldn't expect a Civic DX to run with me if I didn't know it was turboed.

Those don't really sound like losses since you were ahead when you shut down - a kill is still a kill even if you had to fight for it.

Re: My first loss. w-0 L-1

My grampa's got an Excusion to pull his racecar on *1961chevybiscayne800hponpumpgas* Sorry, I sneezed. He put the a bunch of Bully Dog parts on it and damn... you can stomp it going about 40 and get a nice puff of white (and black) smoke. It's crazy when this black train eats integras, DSMs ,and even a few V-8 S-10s. Its a friggn beast. They're no slouch stock though. We set the cruise at 110 on the way back from Valdosta, GA.

That excursion must have a LOT and i mean a LOT of work done to it. I use to drive those tanks all the time at ford, the pick up diesles were pretty quick but an excursion is definitly a TANK.

Re: My first loss. w-0 L-1

the ford V10s haul balls, i used to drive a 99 f250 with toolboxes in the back, probably sittin at like 6500 lbs easy, damn thing would pin the speedo to 100 faster than you can say supercalifragilisticexpealidocious, would go faster but governor kicks in 10 mpg soon ended my truck's career tho

Re: My first loss. w-0 L-1

I had a V8 Jeep Cherokee (newer 2000+ model) stomp the gas on me a long time ago; I was driving a V6 Galant GTZ. It *totally* destroyed me. That thing was quick enough to hand it to quite a few cars on the road. Had a lot more respect for SUVs ever since

no actually 227whp is really good for such a small turbo, the t25 compressor flow is only 23lb/min
