Serenity

Oh man, great movie. If you liked the series at all, you absolutely must see the movie. It's the same great writing only with far better sets and special effects. Even if you didn't get a chance to catch the TV show, the first 10 minutes or so sum up what happened pretty nicely.

Excellent sci-fi action comedy flick

I was thinking about seeing it tomorrow night.... but I can't decide if I should see History of Violence instead.

You guys really liked it that much? This is one of the worst movies I've seen this year lol. how many times do I have to watch the same sci-fi plot with the same stupid catch phrases?

ex.
"I need to see your I.D."
::gunshot::
"OK"

lame

maybe I'm missing something here.

They never said anything lame like that in the movie. Some of the best lines written in years, and you don't get it, what a shame. You're missin out.

Tell me another movie with the same plot. That is right, you CAN'T! Because it is original

Re: Serenity

So did you figure what movie you were talking about? Since it was not Serenity.

Re: Serenity

i'm actually with uncle ben up there, one of the worst movies i've seen all year. the jokes weren't funny and the action wasn't even special. comparing it to star wars or any other sci fi movie with any kind of remote reputation, this is just a really bad movie. not worth the price of the movie ticket, im glad i got in free.

Re: Serenity

NECROPOST! but it's ok....cause I have something legit to say :-P

You guys have been spoiled by the matrix. Serenity is the most believable sci-fi movie I have ever seen. Every person in that movie could be a descendent of me or one of my friends.

No faster than light technology, no widespread laser-weapon use, no grand perfect federation, no unbelievably large physics-defying starships, no sound in space (particularily liked that one), no aliens, and real to life humans. No heroes, just "simple folk, doing what simple folk do."

And in what, 4 to 5 thousand years of humanity, very little is going to be original. what matters is if it improves on what it used to be...I know what you're talking about with the "I need to see some ID" *gunshots* "OK!" and yes, I've seen it before...but I liked this rendition.

Second, the action. The action may not have been special...the action was real. when people get hit in the eye, there's blood. when people get stabbed or shot, they get hurt. I don't like bullet-time, high-flying action movies because they're -too- fantastic...

Also, the PAX gas: (the gas used to stop the riots at Miranda) PAX is latin for peace, ain't it?

If you don't agree with me, cool. I respect those with their own opinions. but I just wanted to get that out there.
