Angry 2000 lumina ABS noise

I constantly hear ABS noise when breaking.......Breaks seem to work fine as well as the ABS. I hear a clicking noise at evey stop sign on dry pavement........Have heard the noise for a long time now........My mechanic has replaced the wheel sensors and still no luck..........Anyone else had this problem and how they fixed it.....I hate to replace the ABS module if that won't fix the problem...........

Re: 2000 lumina ABS noise

do you actually feel the abs in the pedal, or are you just hearing the pump kick on?

still no luck

i have contacted friends at two major GM dealerships who are mechanics.........they claim if it's the ABS it should read that way when it's tested.........i am still reluctant to order the ABS module as it's expensive but can't be proved to be the problem.......i have searched the internet from top to bottom and i have found that this is not a very common problem.........

Re: 2000 lumina ABS noise

This should be scanned with an abs capable scanner and look at wheel sensor speeds from 8 mph down, look for one sensor dropping out early and erroneously causing the abs to actuate. Are you saying you replaced all 4 sensors?

abs

I talked to my mechanic about testing the sensors......he has run test after test with ABS scanner at low speeds trying to find a bad sesor but no luck...........He claims he has replaced one but not the others........the fronts are very expensive.......i think the plan is to replace both fronts at the time but i am still unsure if that is what is casuing the problem.........or ABS module?

Re: 2000 lumina ABS noise

Listen you will not find a definitive answer here, if he has access to tsb's there may be some addt'l info on the condition from GM. But your guy is on the spot doing what he can here. Only hands on analysis will correct this. One other thing, a loose /bad wheel bearing can cause this, but you would have a noise also. Remember not all scanners will pick up abs issues.
