ABS Light and Gauge Needles

I have an 02 Tahoe, the ABS Light, Air Bag Light and Battery Light will come on and flash then go away. Some times the Gauges (all of them) go down to 0. Then they will come back on to the correct postion.

Example: Say I am driving 30 mph the lights will flash then the speed odometer will show that I am doing 0 mph then it will pop backup to 30 mph.

Any one have any ideas?

What is a Cluster

I called a local Chevy Dealer the service department told me that the issue with the Gauges and the Mileage indicator maybe a bad Cluster.

What is a Cluster and how much does it normally cost to replace or fix?

NC

A guy a work with is having a similar problem with is 2001. did you ever get your's resolved? Was it the cluster? I was thinking it might be a bad ignition switch...which is a lot cheaper than a cluster. Dealer quoted him $1200 bucks for cluster labor and some other work. Would really like to know how your's worked out.

Re: Re: ABS Light and Gauge Needles

I had the dealership replace the ignition switch but the problem was still happening. They then found a board on the cluster was broken. The new cluster was like $350.00 then about another 100 to install it.

That was about 3 months ago, and it appears to have fixed the problem
