daytime running lights

is there anyway of disconnecting the daytime running lights on my 96 s10 blazer? thank you

I have a fuse under the hood in the fuse block that says DRL next to it, I pull that fuse and no more day time running lights.

By the way I have a 98

If you step on the emergency brake down to one click or two it turns off the DRL and is not enough to engage the parking brake, this is a factory feature made specifically for turning off the DRL.

I guess that is an option but I would feel better knowing all I did was remove a fuse and not have to step on the E-brake. I use the E-brake when I want to shut off the automatic headlights, when the regular night time driving lights come on when it is too dark.

All I had to do in my '96 is remove the DRL fuse from the panel next to the drivers side door. FYI, the fuse is also for factory foglamps.

Foggy or not, ya gotta rock the fog lamps whenever possible.

i only have 1 problem with that i dont have a oeners manual to tell me which 1 it is. thank you i am sure it will work though

When you take the panel off, there should be a label on it telling you what fuses are what. The fuse you want to pull is DRL/Fog.

you were right it worked i should of known to look inside the door of the fuse box i guess i just had a brain cramp my fault. thank you for your patience with an old man.

I would love to know why would someone disengage the DRL. Unless you are a CIA, PI, FBI or DEA agent who needs to follow someone covertly like james bond no need to turn them off. I wish I could make my fogs come on with the DRL during the day. More lights are definately better

I tend to drive with a little bit of a lead foot. With DRL's, it's easier for a cop to see me as I approach. If he's gonna give me a ticket, he's gonna have to work at it!

For that matter, take a magnet to the back of your driver's license as well! If he is going to write you a ticket, make him punch in the info manually instead of just swiping the license like a credit card! Again, why make it easy for him!

I pulled the fuse for my DRL's because a lot of the time I leave the truck in ACC position for the ignition when I need more then just the radio and when the DRL's come on it really drains the batter fast!

I just don't see the reason for having the headlights on all the time. You're just going to burn them out faster.

Besides, I like pretending to be James Bond once in a while.
