57 Series FIPK (1st post)
Hi all,
Just got in my FIPK and plan on installing it in couple weeks when my truck gets out of the shop. Why is it in the shop you ask? Hurricane Katrina did a little damage to it. The shop is changing every piece of fluid my truck has and doing some body repair. Heres my first question has anyone installed one of theses on a 2000 4.3L, V6 and if so what did you notice? (HP increase, sound, ect...)? I know to expect something but what? (This is my first upgrade ever, I used to build computers for fun but decided to move on to something bigger.) Question two what should I upgrade next to increase HP? The last question I will ask is anyone have any good sites to share for truck stuff? I'm really trying to change out my middle seat to a center console of some sort. I will add pick soon as I can I'm at work now. 57-3038 Product Specifications Product Style: 57 Series FIPK Estimated Horsepower Gain: 8.21 HP @ 4544 RPM Type: Gen II Replacement Filter: RF-1041 CARB EO Number: D-269-28 Weight: 13.3 lb (6 kg) 2000 Chevy Silverado Reg cab 4.3 L V6 more coming soon Thanks |

Even though it was in a Blazer, when I put with intake on it, it definately had a better sound when I got on it. Sounded alot less like an suv and more like an old hot rod
. As for overall performance, I really couldn't tell ya if there was a change. I'll assume there was, but anyone's guess is as good as mine. Hope this bit is even a little bit helpful. Oh yea, dunno if it matters, but I did have Flowmasters on it. Dont know if that had somethin to do with it, or not.
