1987 GT not getting spark

Hi, when i turn the car over there is no spark when i put a screw driver into the coil wire. I thought it was the ignition control mod, so i ordered one and changed it but still I get no spark.

The car died on me just after i passed someone, earlier it was sort of chuggin once inawhile that day.

I've used a voltage meter and everything seems to be good, my lights, wipers, fuel pump are ok, but there is one wire that had a factory fuse on it, loose. Its end it had been twisted onto another wire. It looks to be black with maybe a yellow trace line. Its 12v and runs from the left strut tower and into the passengers side firewall, possible to the computer. I can not see what the loose end connects to, everything seems to be connected.
