Re: Classic Japanese Car show (56k don't even try)

Wow. Those cars are awesome. Nice pics too. Quick question, what cars are the ones in picture number 2 and 4? The first one is the Datsun and I'm not sure what the second one is.

Also, what car is the silver Mitsu in this picture?

Finally, what's the green one in this picture?
http://www.bottomliner.com/japanesecarshow/limerx3.JPG

Sorry for all the noob questions!

Thank you!

hahah is that Quoc in the pic Matt?

anyways i'll answer the question for you.

second car in the pic is a Datsun 510.

the silver mitsubishi is a Starion, its a 2.6 liter 4 cylinder turbo RWD with staggered wheels and flared fenders from teh factory. dodge has a twin of it called the dodge conquest.

the green car in the pic with the 4 headlights and the grill thats sticking out is a mazda RX-3.

there is another car with 4 headlights and those are the old school toyota corollas.

That 2000 GT is dead-sexy.

Those old-school Skylines, I know Japanese mafia have threatened people who have "desecrated" their heritage, by bringing them to the U.S. (mostly U.S. servicemen).

Re: Classic Japanese Car show (56k don't even try)

Wow. Nice pics. They all look great.

I'd like to go to a car show like this, but how do I find out where they have them? I live like 1.5 hours from Chicago, and I'd be willing to make the drive.

That, my friend, is a replica of the infamous "whale tail". Not only were they "cool" "back in the day", as they were popularized by Porsche's 911, but Datsuns used those in racing in IMSA: http://www.a2zracer.com/page84.html

Re: Classic Japanese Car show (56k don't even try)

Yeah... it was like high 70s low 80s that day.

EDIT: Might want to let you guys know, that the Toyota 2000 GT was brought out by Toyota.

From their personal car collection/museum here in Southern California.
