Vtec question...?

i'm new to imports, does it matter on the vtec on auto and manual engines?

i'm even newer to vtec than i am to imports in general, i have very little knowledge on it and would like to gain some, can someone shed some light on me or at least point me in the right direction? thanks

Re: Vtec question...?

if you have an LX (D16y7 engine) that is just a plane SOHC NON-vtec engine. but you really wouldnt be missing out on anything anyways.

Re: Vtec question...?

Turbos shove a bunch of air into your engine, you use some kind of fuel managment to dump a bunch of fuel in there too. More fuel + air = more power.

With VTEC, it uses larger lobes on the cam to change valve timing and amount of lift of the valves.

Check it yom:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ad.php?t=19176

that's the engine swap guide in the 92-95 forum, though much of it won't apply to your particular application, there is plenty of general information about honda, honda engines and engineering, pros and cons of different engines and motor projects, including minor discussion on forced induction (aka: turbo).

keep searchin' on your own on here and you'll find butt-loads of info.

word.

V-tec: Variable Timing Electronic Control er something like that - symantics.
