manifold leak
my car has started overheating yesterday. so i looked at it and there was hardly any water in the radiator. so i dont know where it went. there is a small leak up by the thermostat on the intake manifold. antifreeze starts seaping up through the gasket when the engine is running. could this have where all the coolant went? i called a shop today to replace the gasket and they gave me a price of $300-350. does this sound right?thx

Re: manifold leak
too expensive, on a TBI i would charage for 1.5 hours. Do it yourself. But if one or 2 of the bolts dont come (I had it once) tnan theres lotsa drilling involved because the bols by the water jackets get corroded over time and freeze.

Re: manifold leak
Its all bullshit. i would fix it beter than they would do for $100 cash. Thats a real price. Just find someone with a garage who works on perfomance cars and willing to do it for cash. Iam pretty sure one of the members could hook you up depending on where you live.
