93' steering locked, key wont turn

I can not get my steering unlocked! and there for my key will not turn i tried everything........any help would be greeeeeeeatly appreciated

some cars you have to pull on the wheel in either direction while you turn the key to unlock it. Also be sure (if auto) that the gearshift is in the park or neutral.

I hope you do get the key out, persevereance and good old WD40 usually does the trick. Once you get it out, put some powdered graphite into the keyslot, sprap with WD40, and repeat, that worked for me.

Ok I got the key out, thats not the problem, the problem is....I tried everything from jigglin the key to turnin the wheel everywhich way, ,its still in lock position, The key will not turn at all!!! i tried wd-40 last nite, it wont turn still,any ideas before i have a locksmith come over, look at it? I dont know much about cars......

While you're trying to turn the key move the steering wheel back and forth...

keyhole was jammed up , my key is so worn that it wasnt working right.....thats what locksmiths are good for thanks for all your help

I used to have a van that happend too but it was the key that had a burr of sorts on it once it was simply buffed out it again worked fine.
