I need some help please

Hello Everybody.....

I got a 92 olds cut cer 3300, I've got a new inspection sticker on it. After fixing a few things on it, I really like the car and want to fix the 2 problems it has.

The biggest problem, has happen to me 2 times so far. I would drive it, shut the car off go then come back 15 min later. Then turn on the key and everything would work, but as soon as the starter should kick in.

All power would shut off, no power to the lights or anything. I would go out and pull the computer plug, coming off the batterys pos and put it back. The first time I did this, that worked right away and started up. Also before pulling the computer plug, I messed with the key and shifter. At one point, the power did come back on till I tried to start it.

The 2nd time I try 4 times that did not work, but each time it would put the power back on lighting worked. Till I went to start it, then the power would shut off again. On the 5th try, I did the same thing but left the key on the hole time. Then it started right up again, so far I noticed that if it sit for awhile.

It will not have that problem, last night I started checking the battery post wires. Clean them and made sure they was put on right, I also took a stereo power amp wire off it. They had took the amp out, and I just typed the wire ends in side the trunk before this.

I need to fix this problem ASAP, as it's driving me nuts thinking it may not start for me. Thanks, For any help with this.

Re: I need some help please

Check the grounds to the frame and engine first, clean and tighten all including battery, post back results.
