I was changing the alternator in my wife's car, and as I was lossening the connector bolt that attached the wiring harness, the wire snapped off and is no longer attached. How can I fix this????

Re: 98 sunfire - alternator problem!!!! HELP!!!

I'm sure there's a right way to fix it that involves replacing that big ass wire. Me, I'm cheap, so when it happened to me I just took some of the cover off the wire and wrapped the copper around the bolt. Granted, probably not the most safe idea ever, but I've yet to have a problem.

At least I THINK we're talking about the same thing.

Thanks for the advice. It seems to be working okay. I just have to make sure that the wire cover stays on the wire. Thanks again!!!!
