My Mk1 1500 has just been put back on the road after lying idle for 6 years, it is now roadworthy, but i have a problem with No3 cylinder not firing. I've replaced plugs, leads, cap, i have got compression, i have a spark, but if i pull No 3 lead off it makes no difference to the running of the engine. I have not had the timing checked, it used to run on leaded and i have just put unleaded in and apart from the misfire it seems ok?
Could it possibly be valve guides? or something more sinister. I also have in my garage a 1600 engine that used to run on unleaded but has a fluid flywheel on, is it possible to remove the flywheel and fit my 1500 flywheel etc etc. |

Re: Mk 1 misfire
IS that cylinder getting Fuel? If it has spark, and compression......

Re: Mk 1 misfire
It has a spark fuel i hope, but maybe lacking compression, i haven't tested with compression tester yet, possibly rings or valve seats?

Re: Mk 1 misfire
I would suggest you just change the engine.
