Shredding Sidewall
Hey guys. Anyone know if chrome cleaner (the spray on type) could eat away at the tire sidewall and cause it to start shredding? When to the dealership and they suggested that the tire was pressure was low, which was causing heat buildup in the tire, leading to the shredding. Well, I did have my low tire pressure warning light come on two days ago. I checked all the tire pressures. The low tire was my rear driver side (22PSI). It worries me because that's a 12PSI drop overnight. The tire didn't appear to be low though. I checked all the other tires and they were fine. The shredding tire is my front driver side. Any ideas?

Re: Shredding Sidewall
The cleaner shouldn't do anything to the tire itself. The problem may be due to the low tire pressure like the dealer mentioned. Although it appears to have started long before the pressure dropped. If the shredding is too bad replace the tire as it may fail in the near furture.
