I Have A 96 Tahoe W/ A 5.7. Yesterday It Started Misfiring, Bad.
So Go Into The Center Console, Pull Out The Code Reader. It Said Misfire Cyl #5. Well, I Look At The Wire And It's Burned On The Outside.musta Fell Out Of The Loom Because It Was Sitting On The Exhaust Manifold. So I Take It Off.switch It With #6 Wire To See It Misfire On #6. Well It Didn't. It Started Up Like It Was On Steroids. Ran More Powerful Than It Has In A While. |

Have seen before
Not on my Tahoe, but on an old mustang I once had. The plug wire was visibly worn and was arcing. I could shake the wire and it would run fine for a while. Give it some time and that wire may start arcing again. Best bet is to buy new ones.
