Re: Rear Disc/Rotor removal
The rear rotors have a drum in the center for the park brake. The shoes are likely adjusted tight to the drum or the parking brake is on.
You will find a plug in the backing plate that you can take out and use a "screwdriver" to back off the starwheel. JD |

Re: Rear Disc/Rotor removal
You probably have the emergency brake on, make sure its off. Happened to me once. However you should have drums on the rear, but I seen some with discs all around.

yeah it was the parking brake pads pressing on the inside of the rotor.
grabbed a bigger hammer and smaked it off the pads, one pad cracked and so i repalced those as well. thanks for the help! |

Re: Rear Disc/Rotor removal
The mechanical pivot that spreads the park brake shoes sometimes seizes up and won't let the brake release all the way.... Quite easy to remove when the shoes are off. Clean up the rust and lube with a moly grease when you put it back together.
