'92 Grand Marquis Radio problem.

So, I heard alot of popping coming for the speakers, very rarely though, and one day, there was no sound from the speakers. The radio was still on and I had full control of the radio, but no sound. Is it possible the amp I is dead? Speacking of which, where is the amp..Please help, thanks.

not sure bout ur radio problem but the amp is located directly behind your spare tire in the trunk

Thanks, but you are gonna love this one. I pulled out the spare tire and there was nothing there. The only thing on that wall was a small black box all the way to the drivers side that looks more like an Anti-theft computer. But behind the tire was nothing. I'm still really confused.
