93 taurus axod transmission suddenly downshifts hard after warming up
my 93 taurus axod tranny operates fine until reaching normal temperature then it will suddenly downshift so hard it feels like it is going to break a motor mount

Do you keep going, just in first gear? There may be a wiring fault or something that's "telling" it to downshift (normally easily fixed if it can be found). ...or it may be time for a new ride, which I know isn't what you wanted to hear. This is one I usually let a mechanic look at. Expect to drop a couple thousand bones on this one though. Transmissions are not cheap.
