My daugter finally told me of the back breaks grinding, I checked it out and she had no rear pads left. Since she was driving around a while she ate up the rear rotor and I need to replace it. I was adjusting the hand break to releave pressure from the rotor and busted the cable. I tuged to try and release the pressure from the inside of the "Hi-Hat" rotor with no success.
How can I get the hand break to release and let me change to rotor?
Found out that you just need to beat the heck out of the rotor until it breaks loose. The adjustment to the parking break is unreachable and when you remove the rotor, more times than not the brake pads come off with the drum/rotor.
