I want to remove the rear section of my factory exhaust (the short pipe and muffler) and run without it. I jacked my 95 Civic Ex up and started to take it off and my dad wuldn't let me. He said that the computer may get messed up and that the rear brake lines may over heat, among other problems it may cause. I don't have cash for a axle-back system, but the only eye sore on my car is the TINY stock piping. Is he right????Or should i just take it off????

dude leave it on. that exhaust gas is going to creep into your cabin when you at idle and make the car smell like shit. not to mention it will sound like shit and it may very well melt a brake line if you sit in one place long enough and the pipe is close enough to one. one thing he is wrong about is it will throw no engine code. not to be an asshole but if there where two identical civic side by side and one had a stock exhaust and the other had no axle back section i would immediatly start ripping on the person without the axle back section on his car.

Don't bother its not worth it...the sound is not even that great....If you want a ncie sound just save for a new exhaust...ric is absolutely right about the carbon monoxide fumes....and it does look pretty dumb seeing a car without the axleback section. |
