Power tailgate lock opinions

Any opinions on the 'Pop & Lock" power tailgate lock, also any recommendations on other manufactures? Looking at installing one on my 01 Silverado Z-71.

That's pretty cool, but I could see someone not knowing you had it and trying to open your tailgate and breaking the handle off because it was locked

Re: Power tailgate lock opinions

Had one in my '01 and was awesome as it kept people out of my truck. Went 5000 miles round trip to the north and back and never took anything out from under the soft tonneau.

Problem that I started experiencing was the rod would get stuck in the locked postition. Sprayed with wd40 and it would work for another 3 months if I did not get into dusty areas. The teflon is good but not great for the sliding arm. I also was worried about the "Handle Breaking" and it never happened even after my brother got pissed at it!!!!
