Heater fan not blowing right
Alright, so i have a 91 cavalier that has a 3.1. Ever since i have had this car the heat has just not worked right. While the heat is on the low setting i can hardly feel heat blowing, not a big deal. But when i switch it to the highest setting i can still feel hardly anything. I read that some time they get gunked up and you have to pull the motor and clean out the box. I did that today and removed a bunch of crap. But i still dont have very good heat. Any other ideas i should try?

Re: Heater fan not blowing right
Do you have airflow? If you have airflow, then it's not the blower, plugged air duct, or clogged heater core (external). It however could be that the internals of the heater core are plugged or coolant just isn't flowing through the heater core.

heater
Replace the resistor module under the heater motor you will see two small screws under the blower motor, the res. allways blow as they are air cooled in the vent sys. and they get water and junk on them a blow out you will loose fan on any or all of the settings module is cheap and they sure sell lots of them.

The fan does work and i do get air flow, but it just doesnt kick out the air like it should be doing. I have a friend with a car almost the same as mine and his heater works way better. The heat is warm, but like i said, it just doesnt seem to be pushing it out like it should be. Almost like a vent is not opening enough. I can try the resistor idea, i seen those while i was cleaning out the box.

hey, i got the same type of problem with my 95 cavi. my heat doesnt blow out, same with the vent. but heat does come out the vents when im driving down the road. but not alot of it. so i decided to fix it since its beginning to get cold. i replaced the resister cuz the old one was broke in half. i figured that was it. but it wasnt. it still does the same thing. and what i was reading from this thread is that its the vents or some piece in them. could someone explian this to me please. and how to fix this. thanks
