Mini Me

Ok hears the deal, I got a chance to buy a d16y8 head for $50 its missing the dist, valve cover, rockers, and probably a little more. This would be a cool opportunity because I could upgrade the valvetrain and cams right off the bat. But the problem Im debating is my 11 yr old bottom end. Someone tell me to stop being foolish and buy the Damn head.

Motor

As far as the bottom end is concerned i haven't heard of many people having problems. That also depends on maintance. All the cars out there are a bit different. If your car has been somewhat takin care of than i don't see much of a problem.

Yeh, the si dist works perfectly(its what you gotta use unless you change ecu's)... all the bolts line up on the Y8 head
if it were a Z6 head then you could only get 1 or 2(with some modification) to line up......

-Bleebdat, you have an si right? it should be a piece of cake...its just how you choose to handle Vtec......i went with a fields v-sfc, it works great....
