day at the track..
i went to the track on wednesday. took my 323Ci. my friend took his gsr. the gsr has the engine out of my old hatch. it was a 97 b18c1. we converted it to a 94 and stuck it in his car. he has an aem v2 cold air intake and a custon exhaust with an apexi weld on tip. he ran a freaking 14.860 on the 1/4mile. i could not believe my eyes... so i took his keys and ran a 14.801. my dial in was 14.8. is this a freak motor or are there internal mods???? neither me or my friend made any other mods.
the fastest i ran on the 323 was 15.6. couldnt get a good launch.

i've seen many stock gs-r's with a good driver hit 15.0-15.1 at low elevation. And i've seen them run 14.7-14.8 with all the bolt ons. So no it is not a freak motor you and your friend just know how to drive it and you were probly running at a nice low elevation track. Also what tires are on it? if you have nice sticky tires on front to allow the hook up a low time is attained easier.

Re: day at the track..
the 323 has an inline six 2.5 motor. same as 325. but as far as the gsr goes i used to have gsr, it was a 4door. i had a cold air intake, dc sport catback, hollowed out cat, and a mugen chip. i ran the fastest of 15.2 at the same track. i ran at sacramento raceway. the gsr got some cheap tires in the front.
there was a hatch with a b16 swap running 14.9. by the end of the night he got it down to 14.4. i havent seen many gsrs running faster then 15.2. there was one running 14.7 but the guy spun an axle. he had way more mods.

Re: day at the track..
but do you agree with me that 14.8 is a little fast for a (internally) stock gsr?
