another Peugeot 206 WRC... 2002 Burns Version~!

Here is another progress of 206 WRC.
This is my first kit of 206, so I have been so tresuring the kit, keeping it untouched for years...
and now, here it comes its progress.

First to clear the molding lines on the body. then primed with black (Gunze #2) instead of any surfacer (Body + Chassis)

on the other day, i spent some time on the silvery. coating with Tamiya TS-17. and chassis was also painted.

other colors are also painted on the chassis and its parts.

looking forward to its progress as i may not have much time sitting at home until 2006. so i have to get as much done as possible in this couple of weeks.

welcome for any comments or suggestions~!!

Nice work Joey!
I'm still Burns fan even he don't drive anymore, but I hope that he will be back one day.

i "am" one of his fans too~
it is the worst news when i heard about his illness...that really killed his bright future in the world of rally~!

damn god always puts bad things on great people...>.<

i really hope to see him back healthy and get into any of the impreza for another champ~!

i have been planning to build the racer of his last race, but yet i still cannot get the decal sheet of the spain 2003....

On a side note we wont see Richard back unfortunately due to the brain tumour, although i think he will drive casual lower profile rallies again sometime.

Anyway fantastic model, a real tribute to a really amazing rally driver. Willbe watching with interest.

Regards

Here are some updates:

I have been working aboard, so the project was actaully paused.
I came back a couple of weeks ago and resumed to it for now.

and here are how it goes:

Body was painted red for the decal area to save effort applying decals

Chassis is ready now

---------------------------------------------------------------

On the other day, I sprayed the seat into CF~~haha~~

and I sprayed clear coat over the body and waited for a week before I start polishing it

------------------------------------------------------------

Then it came to the cockpit, where I wired up around with my own imagination...LOL~~

And Studio 27 seat belt was first used

Another look on the cockpit

----------------------------------------------------------------

A closer look, I have given it some weathering, which I learn from my airplane model experience, i doubt if I should do it after I have done it... look odd....

Weathering on the brake disc as well...

Seat belt assembly completed

----------------------------------------------------------------

And here are some pics after polishing

seems sanded off a lot of paint actually....>.<

After sand paper #1500

After sand paper #2000 and compound

pre-assembly... just leaving the nets and mirrors

You can find a Studio27 TransKit for the version you'd like to build, which reference is ST27-DC669C.
good luck

Very nice, really showing off the shine there!

Just one small detail. I don't believe Burns and Reid used the extra head protection on the Sparco seats, that was just the Panizzi brithers. In fact I seem to recall Burns used a Recaro seat (which had the logo blanked out so not to clash with the teams Sparco sponsorship). Tamiya really let the interior accuracy of the 206 kits slide over the years.

To blubaja, hrmodeler, WasteGas :
Thank you guys~~!!

To rallymaster:
Thanks for the info. I have just got the decals a month ago as one of my Taiwanese friend gave me a big hand~!! Love this sheet so much and I will build the kit when my skill improve more~~

To RallyRaider:
OMG~!!! Cox there are not many reference I could find, I simply follow the instruction... DAMN~!!!

Actually I referred to your 206 as how to add the belts around the spare wheel. Hopefully I will be able to handle it by tonight~
