2006 SI Stats mistake?
Last night I was reading an article in Car and Driver talking about the new Civic Si and the stats (est.) were shit. They claimed 7.4 seconds 0-60, and a top speed of 136 mph (rev limited). That seems like bullshit, since the old Si's got to sixty in I know under seven and it seems under six (correct me if I'm wrong), but certainly under 7.4 seconds. That's V6 mustang territory. Also, it seems unlikely that with 197 hp in a lighweight car that the rev limited top speed is 136 mph--especially since the 7th gen EX's can get up to nearly 130 (128 mph I think, it's hard to tell on speedo.) Someone please tell me they mixed up the stats with the base model.

Re: 2006 SI Stats mistake?
they might have, honda claims 0-60 in like mid sixes, top speed however may be limited due to the all season tires they may have tested with, there is a high performance tire also, which can handle higher speeds.

Don't forget gearing ratio will limit the top speed. A Tall Gear is more fuel economic and will reach a higher top speed.
A Short Gear uses more engine revolutions, provides better acceleration through torque multiplication and has a lower top speed. |
