Headlight Issue

Hello-
I have a 91 miata. When I turn on the headlights they never come on and never raise up, I can press the button on the dash and they raise up but the headlights do not turn on. I imagine it is the fuse. . . but I can not seem to find the freakin thing! Does anyone know the exact location of the headlight fuse?

Lightbulb Working on it...

I too have a strange electrical gremlin in my lights.
90 Miata, lights come on with the headlight switch, but they don't open. They WILL open with the raise/lower switch on the console, but they WILL NOT CLOSE! Even with both switches off.

I'm suspecting a faulty console switch. I need real service manual and a wiring diagram.

I'll post more as I figure this one out and maybe it'll help you out too.

The only fuses I know of are drivers left footwell and under the hood on the passenger side. Could be a faulty headlight switch as well. I'd check voltage there first.

Headlight won't go up or down

OK here's what I found on my car today...

I pulled the switch from the console. The one with the hazard switch in it.

I GENTLY pried it open and stopped at this point.

PULL IT OUT ANY FURTHER AS PARTS WILL GO FLYING ABOUT!!!!

My car was in a crash and the headlight was up. when it tried to cycle down, it froze and shorted this circut board tracer.
So, I scraped it clean and soldered a strip of copper wire over the gap. I also tinned the other lead that looked stressed.

I snapped it back together, installed it and the lights instantly cycled once! I turned on the headlights and up they came, lit up. I turned them off and down they went much to my delight!! They also work with the clonsole raise/lower switch.

CAUTION!
BE CAREFUL AND GENTLE WHEN PRYING THE SWITCH APART. IT COMES APART EASY SO BE READY TO KEEP THINGS IN LINE AND TAKE NOTE OF WHERE EVERYTHING IS BEFORE YOU PULL IT OUT!!

Good luck and Aloha!

Dino
