Another plea for help
Ok, I need to make a rack to put in the "trunk" and I need to know how to run something like computer fans off of the wiring in a 94' V6 with the basic options. I already have a plan for the rack so I just need the fans to run. Thanks for any help

Okay what do you mean by "rack" and why the hell do you need fans to run in the hatch? Try to be a little more clear please.

Re: Another plea for help
like a shelf, I have an amp in the tub (the area under the hatch) that likes to overheat unless there is really good airflow and I need the storage for books

if you could wire in a relay that used an ignition hot to make the connection to the battery... that way it took the power from your batter, but only when the ignition is turned on..

Re: Another plea for help
positive wire from fan spliced into amp remote wire, and ground it wherever the amp is grounded as well. That way when the amp is on, the fan is on, and when the amp is off, the fan is off.

or that lol, the way i said the fan would be on whenever the ignition is on, geno's way the fan would be on whenever the amp is on... whatever way you want to go

my way, of course, being the most logical way.

well if you connect it to the ignition you can run the fans after the amp is off so you don't leave it hot... but doesn't make that big of a difference on ampsas long as they don't get too hot while they're running
that relay thing to the ignition i was talking about is what i used for my electric water pump...

Well if you leave the fans on after the car is off then you'll drain your battery.. so you got to have a remote and yeah Geno's way is easiest. Lets just stop there.

those little fans won't do a thing to the battery... it could run them forever easy... hell it can run my water pump for hours... so i can use that if i ever run at the track and i want a quick cool down after a race... just turn on the ignition and let the water continue to flow and cool down the engine... either way would work just as good... idk how easy geno's is, but setting up a relay is a snap too

Re: Another plea for help
I am still confused why do you need the fans... to blow air around and keep the amp cool? I have a 2000W amp sitting on top of my subs and it has NEVER overheated, what are you planning on running?

Well its all the way in the back where it dips, so not alot of air gets in there, what I think would be better to do is just relocate the amp and put it right behind the seats, it lets the amp cool down because air is able to reach it better.

Re: Another plea for help
I would put the amp behind the front seats but I want to still be able to use the rear seats (yes I force people to sit there) and plus I like the idea of the fans so I can put an air filter on it. I dont have A/C and I live on a dirt road so there is lots of dust. plus Im thinking of running the fan off of the main power lead to the amp. Would that work?? and thanks for the ideas

I was talking about behind the back seats.. there some space before it dips down and air can get to the amp this way too.

Re: Another plea for help
The sub box is in that little dip. plus I would have to rewire the amp
